If any watch captures the sheer confidence of 1990s design, it's this one. The Diagono Scuba arrived as Bulgari's fearless answer to the traditional sports watch, taking the maison's bold Roman-inspired language and throwing it straight into the water, gold case, rubber strap, zero apologies. It's the kind of unapologetic combination that could only have come out of that decade, and it still turns heads today.

The 38mm case is carved from solid 18k yellow gold, right down to the unidirectional rotating bezel, a genuinely substantial piece of jewelry engineering that somehow still functions as a proper diver's tool, complete with a screw-down crown and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Strapped to Bulgari's signature black rubber bracelet and closed with a matching gold folding clasp, it's an audacious pairing of high jewelry and sports watch that few other maisons had the nerve to attempt.

The black dial keeps things purposeful, Arabic numerals at twelve and six, bold luminous markers and hands, and chronograph pushers built cleanly into the case, all business underneath the glamour.

Inside beats Bulgari's own automatic chronograph movement, proving this was never just a fashion statement, it's a genuine sports watch that happens to be dressed head to toe in gold.
