Breguet Classique Retrograde Seconds – Ref. 5207BB/12/9V6 – Papers, 2015 – Breguet Service 2026

We are delighted to offer this very good to excellent Breguet Classique Retrograde Seconds, reference 5207BB/12/9V6, a refined expression of traditional Swiss haute horlogerie and one of the most elegant modern interpretations of Abraham-Louis Breguet's timeless design philosophy. Combining exquisite hand craftsmanship with an uncommon and captivating complication, the 5207 perfectly embodies the understated sophistication for which Breguet is renowned.

Crafted from 18-carat white gold, the elegantly proportioned 39 mm case features the Maison's unmistakable fluted caseband, welded lugs, and slim polished bezel. Measuring just under 10 mm in height, the watch offers exceptional wearing comfort while preserving the graceful proportions that define the Classique collection.

The silvered solid gold dial is individually hand-guilloché using traditional rose-engine techniques, creating a remarkable interplay of textures and light. The off-centred chapter ring, crisp black Roman numerals, and heat-blued open-tipped Breguet hands are unmistakable hallmarks of the manufacture. At 12 o'clock, the power reserve indicator provides a practical display of the movement's remaining autonomy, while the retrograde seconds display at 6 o'clock introduces a fascinating dynamic element, with the hand instantly snapping back to zero at the end of every minute—an elegant complication that remains rarely encountered in contemporary watchmaking.

Powering the watch is the self-winding Breguet Calibre 516DRSR, equipped with a silicon balance spring and offering an impressive power reserve of approximately 65 hours. Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the beautifully decorated movement showcases Geneva stripes, finely bevelled edges, and an engraved solid gold rotor, demonstrating Breguet's uncompromising approach to both mechanical engineering and traditional finishing.

Originally sold in 2015, this example has recently benefited from a service carried out by Breguet in July 2026 and is presented in excellent mechanical condition, ready to be enjoyed by its next owner.
