AUDEMARS PIGUET Vintage Royal Oak Ref. 14802BA – 18k Yellow Gold – Circa 1993
An exceptionally rare Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Ref. 14802BA in solid 18k yellow gold, preserved in excellent condition and accompanied by an Extract from the Archives and Audemars Piguet service documentation dated 2021.
We are pleased to present this highly collectible Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Ref. 14802BA, one of the most elusive and desirable vintage Royal Oak references produced in precious metal. Crafted entirely in 18k yellow gold, this reference represents a bold and luxurious interpretation of Gérald Genta’s iconic 1972 design.
Produced circa 1993, the reference 14802 is particularly significant within the Royal Oak lineage, as it features the ultra-thin automatic calibre 2121, directly descended from the legendary Jaeger-LeCoultre calibre 920. This movement is widely regarded as one of the finest ultra-thin automatic calibres ever made and was reserved exclusively for Audemars Piguet’s most prestigious models.
The watch is housed in the classic Royal Oak case with its unmistakable octagonal bezel secured by eight white-gold screws, vertically brushed surfaces, and razor-sharp bevels. The integrated 18k yellow gold bracelet flows seamlessly from the case, offering exceptional comfort and a powerful wrist presence.
The dial features the iconic “Petite Tapisserie” pattern, applied gold hour markers, and matching hands, creating a perfectly balanced contrast against the warm tone of the gold case and bracelet. The date aperture at 3 o’clock completes the design while preserving the Royal Oak’s architectural harmony.
This example is accompanied by an Extract from the Audemars Piguet Archives, confirming its originality and production details, as well as Audemars Piguet service documentation from 2021, further supporting its excellent condition and long-term reliability.
"Combining extreme rarity, mechanical pedigree, and iconic design heritage, this Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Ref. 14802BA in 18k yellow gold stands as a true connoisseur’s piece!"
