Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph “Vampire” Ref. 26470ST.OO.A101CR.01, Stainless Steel, Black Dial, 2015

In 2014 Audemars Piguet redesigned the Royal Oak Offshore chronograph for a new generation, and the reference 26470 was the result: a 42 mm Offshore with sharper details, a new dial design and a more balanced look on the wrist. Among the many color variations, one quickly earned a cult following. Its black dial with blood-red accents gave it the nickname “Vampire”, and it became one of the most recognizable modern Offshores.

The 42 mm case is made of stainless steel and has the strong, muscular shape that made the Offshore famous. The octagonal bezel with its eight hexagonal screws, the reinforced case flanks and the alternating brushed and polished surfaces give the steel remarkable depth. The black rubber-coated crown and pushers add a sporty contrast. The watch is water resistant to 100 meters, and through the sapphire caseback you can watch the movement at work.

The black dial carries the “Méga Tapisserie” pattern, the larger version of the classic Royal Oak waffle structure. Red accents across the dial create the dramatic black and red contrast that gives the watch its nickname. The three chronograph counters, the tachymeter scale on the inner bezel ring and the date window complete the functional layout, and the luminous hands and markers keep it readable in the dark.

Inside works the self-winding Audemars Piguet caliber 3126/3840 with around 50 hours of power reserve, a robust and reliable chronograph movement.

It is worn on a black and red rubber strap and an AP steel pin buckle.

The watch dates from 2015 and is in excellent condition. It comes with box and papers and describtion booklet.
