Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph “Camouflage” Ref. 26400SO.OO.A055CA.01, Stainless Steel, Green Ceramic Bezel, Khaki Green Dial, 2019, Mint, Full Set
The Royal Oak Offshore has always been the bolder sibling of the Royal Oak, and in 2018 Audemars Piguet gave it a new personality with a camouflage rubber strap. The first version with a beige dial divided opinions, but in 2019 AP followed with three new colors that hit the mark. The forest green steel version is the one many collectors consider the most successful: sporty, robust and with a military look that feels confident without being loud.
The 44 mm case is made of stainless steel and has the strong, muscular shape that made the Offshore famous. The octagonal bezel is made of green ceramic, which is extremely scratch resistant and keeps its color for years. Its eight hexagonal screws, the protected crown and pushers and the interplay of brushed and polished steel give the watch its powerful character. It is water resistant to 100 meters, and through the sapphire caseback you can watch the movement at work.
The khaki green dial carries the “Méga Tapisserie” pattern, the larger version of the classic Royal Oak waffle structure. The three chronograph counters, the tachymeter scale on the inner bezel ring and the date window complete the functional, sporty layout. Luminous hands and markers keep the watch readable in the dark, and the green tones of dial and bezel blend perfectly.
Inside works the self-winding Audemars Piguet caliber 3126/3840 with around 50 hours of power reserve, a robust and reliable chronograph movement.
The watch is worn on the camouflage rubber strap in green tones that gives it its nickname, closed with a steel pin buckle. An additional khaki green rubber strap was delivered with the watch, so you can switch between a bold and a more understated look.
The watch dates from 2019 and is in mint condition. It comes as a full set with box and papers.
