As the modern evolution of a tool watch born for exploration, the 226570 retains the rugged DNA of the original Explorer II, first introduced in 1971, while benefiting from the latest in Rolex engineering and design refinement. With its larger 42mm case, improved movement, and sharp dial execution, the current reference offers both enhanced functionality and everyday versatility.

The Oyster case is rendered in corrosion-resistant 904L stainless steel, featuring polished flanks and brushed surfaces for a purposeful yet refined look. The fixed 24-hour bezel in satin-finished steel allows for dual time zone tracking when used in conjunction with the vivid orange GMT hand — a subtle nod to the iconic Ref. 1655 „Freccione.“

The glossy black dial offers exceptional legibility, with Chromalight-filled hour markers and Mercedes hands that emit a long-lasting blue glow. The layout remains classic and utilitarian: date at 3 o’clock with Cyclops magnifier, bold indices, and high contrast printing throughout.

Inside ticks the Rolex Caliber 3285 — a next-generation automatic movement featuring a 70-hour power reserve, Chronergy escapement, and Parachrom hairspring for improved precision, shock resistance, and magnetic protection. 

Fitted on the updated Oyster bracelet with solid end links, Easylink extension, and Oysterlock safety clasp, this Explorer II is offered as a complete full set, including:
